Send4Help – A Family Owned Business

Skyguard was established in 2000 to provide the best possible personal safety and backup service for lone working professionals and vulnerable individuals.

Three years market research and technology design (to source the right personal safety devices and develop the best software) was followed by over £3 million invested in setting-up the service. Extensive and successful trials with the Police and other organisations soon followed.

A further £2 million was invested in 2009 to create new personal alarms, software, and the construction of an Incident Management Centre in Surrey, dedicated to the monitoring of personal safety alarms and providing 24 hour assistance for those in need of help.

In March 2010 Skyguard Ltd was acquired by Jan Murray and his family.

Jan Murray – A Success Story

Jan is best known as the founder of the PC World chain of computer superstores. After selling the company to Dixons Group in 1993, Jan subsequently founded Internet Technology Group Plc in 1995, an Internet Service Provider formed to offer high speed connections to business customers and the general public. The company was voted “UK Internet Service Provider of the Year” two years running. In 2000 the company was sold to Concentric Corp. for $250 Million, the largest sale of an independent ISP in the UK!

The main focus of the Murray family is now Skyguard and Send4Help. Drawing from our vast experience in dealing with life threatening incidents on a daily basis, combined with cutting edge infrastructure and training methods, Send4Help now provides a service that is unrivalled.
